On a chilly morning in Macon, volunteers from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Citizens on Patrol (COP) arrived at the Brookdale Warming Center with a special delivery—over 100 pairs of socks for those in need. A small but meaningful gift, these socks provided warmth and comfort to the shelter’s residents.

But the giving didn’t stop there. Book ‘Em, a local literacy nonprofit, brought over 150 books to ensure children had stories to read and enjoy. Excited young readers flipped through colorful pages, their faces lighting up with joy.

The Citizens on Patrol program, which helps the Sheriff’s Office with community safety, also steps up in times of need. Meanwhile, Book ‘Em, which has donated over 50,000 books, continues to fuel young minds with the power of reading.

This day wasn’t just about socks or books—it was about kindness, community, and reminding people they’re not alone. A warm heart and a good story can make all the difference.
