Powers Law Group held its 3rd annual Halloween Book Giveaway with Book ‘Em at their office on Vineville Avenue. Over 150 new books, glow-in-the-dark safety bracelets, bags, and candy were given to trick-or-treaters. Additionally, Book ‘Em provided the Bibb Sheriff’s Office with 100 new books, candy, and bags to give to children who attended their Halloween Carnival at the BSO Outreach Center. If that wasn’t enough, 500 new books were given to trick-or-treaters who haunted Cherry Street in Downtown Macon. Funds for this book giveaway were provided by Scott Mitchell, owner of Travis Jean Boutique, through a Downtown Challenge Grant from the Knight Foundation. In all close to 1,000 new books served as treats for our local children this Halloween!
